A tough start to the season for the Deepings Team who failed to fire all afternoon. St Neots better drilled pack took charge of the scrum and their backs hard running broke tackles all over the park.
Deepings were able to mount periods of pressure on the St Neots line but were never able to complete the phases to score. Deepings also lost their powerhouse No 8, Matt Jackson, to a knee injury.
