The RFU requires every player to complete annual RFU registration through the Game Management System (GMS). This applies to all age‑grade players (U6–U18) and all adult players who take part in contact rugby.
This is RFU registration, not club registration or membership — they are two separate processes.
What RFU Registration Is
RFU registration is a mandatory national requirement for anyone playing contact rugby for an RFU member club.
Adults must register themselves
Parents/guardians must register their children (U6–U18) annually
All players must be registered within 45 days of the season starting or when joining a club
This ensures compliance with RFU Regulations 13 & 14 .
Age‑Grade Players (U6–U18)
Parents/guardians must complete the RFU registration each season.
RFU registration is the only way your child becomes eligible to train and play in contact rugby.
Adult Players
All adult players must log into their own GMS account and complete their annual RFU registration.
If you’ve played before, you already have an account. If you’re new, you’ll need to create one.
Non‑Contact Rugby
Players taking part only in non‑contact formats (T1 Rugby) do not currently need RFU registration.
Why We’re Asking You to Do This Now
RFU registration is not optional and completing RFU registration early ensures players are:
Eligible to train and play
Covered under RFU insurance
Correctly listed for age‑grade compliance
Approved by the club in GMS
