We are writing to inform our members and the local community of an incident that occurred at Deepings Rugby Club in the early hours of this morning, Friday, 23rd January, at approximately 02:57.
The club was broken into via a kitchen window, and forced entry was subsequently made into the bar area. A small amount of stock was taken. Fortunately, our security alarm system triggered immediately, and the intruders fled the premises within minutes.
We would like to extend our sincere thanks to Lincolnshire Police. Following a 999 call, several officers arrived on the scene within minutes to secure the building and begin their investigation.
We have CCTV footage of the two individuals involved. At this stage, we have been advised not to release this footage publicly to avoid compromising the ongoing police investigation and any future legal proceedings. The police are currently reviewing this evidence as part of their inquiries.
While we cannot share the footage yet, we can provide a description of the two individuals involved:
• Individual 1: Appears to be a male of medium build. He was wearing a light-coloured (possibly light grey) zip-up hooded sweatshirt with the hood pulled up, matching light-coloured jogging bottoms, and dark-coloured trainers. He was also wearing light-coloured gloves.
• Individual 2: Appears to be a female of medium build. She was wearing a significantly oversized, long-line light-coloured hooded coat that reaches mid-calf, matching light-coloured jogging bottoms, and distinctive light-coloured slip-on shoes (similar in style to "Crocs" or clogs).
How You Can Help - While the police are handling the primary evidence, we ask our neighbours and the local community to assist in the following ways:
