From the Deepings to Ghana: Our Boots Find a New Home

More Than a Game: Deepings Boots Making a Difference in Ghana.

At Deepings RUFC, we know that a good pair of boots is the start of every great game. Thanks to the generosity of our members, we recently donated a collection of pre-loved rugby boots and trainers to the TEABAG Charity, providing vital gear to children in the fishing village of Mankoadze, Ghana.

We are thrilled to share that the footwear has arrived and is already making a massive difference. While the rugby boots will help young athletes take to the field, we’ve learned that the trainers included in the donation are being used as school shoes for children who previously had none.

About the Project
The TEABAG Charity (The Education And Book Appeal: Ghana) does incredible work in the Central Region of Ghana. They fund a vocational college, support local schools, and manage medical projects that empower the entire Mankoadze community.

A Note from the Club
"Seeing the photos of the kids in Ghana wearing our club’s gear is a proud moment for all of us," said a club representative. "It’s a reminder that the spirit of rugby—teamwork, respect, and community—reaches far beyond our own touchline."

A huge thank you to everyone who donated their old kit. You haven't just cleared out your cupboards; you’ve helped a child attend school and play sports with dignity.
