What do you do after a rugby season defined by hard rucks, powerful running, and a mountain of wins? You take the battle into the forest!
To celebrate a truly remarkable campaign, our combined U13 and U14 squad traded the rugby pitch for the woods, wrapping up their year with a high-octane afternoon of laser tag. It was a well-deserved reward for a group of players who have given their all for Deepings RUFC.
By the Numbers: A Season of Dominance
Playing at the U13 level this year with RFU dispensation, this unique squad of 18 players took on the challenge of 13-a-side rugby on a modified full-size pitch. Safe to say, they didn’t just adapt—they conquered.
The Record: 10 Wins | 1 Loss
The Squad: 18 dedicated players
The Coaches: Steve Capper & Karl Newman
Friendship & Fierce Rugby
While the stat line is incredibly impressive, coaches Steve and Karl are most proud of the team’s culture. This is a incredibly tight-knit group bound by close friendships, and that bond showed every time they stepped over the white line.
Whenever the team found themselves behind or facing adversity, their true character shone through. Instead of heads dropping, the players lifted each other up, motivating one another to keep pushing until the final whistle.
On the field, they were a nightmare for opposition defences. Known for their explosive, strong runners and a relentless ability at the ruck, they played a brand of rugby that was as exciting to watch as it was effective.
Thank You to the Deepings RUFC Family
An incredible season like this doesn't happen in a vacuum. A massive thank you goes out to our fantastic parents. Whether driving to away games, cheering from the sidelines in the freezing rain, or supporting the club behind the scenes, your backing has been the backbone of this team's success.
Congratulations to all the players and coaches on a phenomenal year. Rest up, enjoy the summer, and we can’t wait to see you back on the pitch for next season!
