

Deepings RUFC hosted St Ives for an electrifying league clash on November 29th, a historic day for the club as the fixture was supported by Grassroots Rugby LIVE.
The crowd was treated to a superb spectacle of end-to-end, try-for-try rugby from the opening whistle, highlighting a vastly improved performance by the home side. Deepings' attacking efforts were rewarded with three impressive tries, scored by Lewis Cannell, James Price, and Alex Reyes-Conway, demonstrating the side's cutting edge and determination.
Captain Ciaran Thompson successfully added the lone conversion, keeping Deepings firmly in the fight against their tough opposition.
The match remained on a knife-edge for the vast majority of the 80 minutes, with the scoreline close as both teams traded blows. However, in the crucial final 10 minutes, the game swung in favour of the visitors. St Ives' composure allowed them to successfully slot three crucial penalty kicks, ultimately clinching the match with a final score of 32-17.
While the result didn't go their way, Deepings can take immense pride in their competitive spirit and improved showing, setting a high standard for their upcoming fixtures.
