Deeping Devils ladies loose their Captain this Sunday at their final game of the season against Peterborough Ladies.

Gemma Wilson took on the captaincy last year and has had a great year bringing the team on. During the season though Gemma was selected to take part in several trial games for the NLD, Notts, Lincs & Derby, County squad.

Gemma, 31, who plays prop forward was noted for her performance in these match and put forward into the wRFU development programme where she has been training for the later part of the season.

Being selected for the squad has opened up several opportunities for Gemma and after playing two IIXV games for Premiership team Saracens Ladies she has agreed a deal with them and transfers there over the summer.

"I find it a bit hard to take in!" said Gemma "I'm so pleased to have been selected, but I'm sad to be leaving my club, and my girls. I have played at Deepings since the start of the ladies team and I wouldn't be here now if it was not for the support of the coaches, the club and my team mates. Though I'm going to playing somewhere else next season Deeping will always be my home club and I would encourage anyone down to join in it's a great rugby club and I will back as often as I can.

Gemma's last game for the Devils is at Peterborough Rugby Club this Sunday, 1st May, in the last league game of the season. PRUFC are also holding their Beer Festival this weekend so it's a great time to get down and watch some rugby. Kick off is 13:00pm all the details are on www.deepingsrufc.co.uk
