Dino's lose to pacey Boro youth
Magyar Magic undoes the Dinos
The Dinos travelled to fortress Fengate with a scratch team that included several new faces from both Peterborough and Thorney. There were a number of people playing out of position but confidence was still high. Boro had 26 players including 4 young Hungarian internationals over on an exchange visit. The overseas visitors didn't start but there was still 2 quality younger players in the Boro team and both broke through the centre early on. Des[ite superb cover tackling from man of the match Gez Mulqueen
both offloaded close to the line to the Boro scrum half, Sean Enright to score under the posts. Sean moved from the Dino's to Boro at the end of last season and though he is one of the older players he used his experience to be in the right place in the right time. Despite matching Boro in the scrum and competing well in the lineouts Boro ran in two more tries before half time.
The Dinos came back with a try of their own at the start of the second half and felt that a comeback was on the way. Despite this confidence Boro brought on all four young Hungarian guns and they ran in four more tries to finish comfortable winners. Without the young players it might have been different but Boro were probably worth their victory if not the margin.
The Dino's are now preparing for a home tie with Thorney in 2 weeks.
