A great start to 2012 for DRUFC with 2 wins for the IXV and the Saxons.
The IXV entertained the Bedford Queens at Linchfield Road. Losing captain Dan Hainsworth in the warm up could have caused Deepings a problem but super VC Ali Shaw stepped in and led the team to their first victory in 5 games. The graceful boot of Steve Capper opened the scoring with an early penalty he went on to claim a further eight points with the boot. Wing, Dave Robertson scored his first try in three seasons with a dynamic hurtle down the wing. Two more tries gave Deepings the win. The IXV are away next weekend to Rugby St Andrews.
