A disappointing result for Deepings, but much needed game time was gained. Sleaford made it quite clear in the opening minutes of the game that they were taking this game and the competition very seriously. They opened the scoring in the first ten minutes with some tremendously frantic rugby.
The Deepings IXV were fifteen points to nil down at half time with a further two tries from the visiting side in the second half.
Deepings No 8 Ali Shaw answered with a single try late in the second half which was converted by fly-half Nick Dobie.
