.

A third of the way through the season which has so far been very tough for the senior sides throughout the club. The 1st XV sit in 7th place in the league after a welcome hard fought victory last weekend. Availability remains a problem with only 14 players available to travel to Kempston, a big thank you to Adam who stepped up on route to make up the 15. Lance and Phil have been putting in a lot of work trying to get numbers available for both training and matches, please try to make their jobs more enjoyable by making yourselves available for selection. Vets numbers have remained good both on Wednesday evenings and for Saturday fixtures. Some tough fixtures have resulted in mixed results but performances have been encouraging. The Devils had their 1st outing of the season a fortnight ago and although this resulted in a loss, the performance and effort shown was a credit to the team and their coaches. It is great to see the Devils back on the pitch again. Fingers crossed for better results to come.
On the junior and mini front it has been very encouraging to see good numbers around each weekend. For the 1st time in several seasons we have three age groups in the junior ranks. Results have again been mixed with good performances being achieved, it is great to see more teams representing the club and this must bode well for the future.
From the mini section it is again great to see the numbers improving all the time. A very successful u7/u8 festival was held last month. Well done to all those involved. Great effort by all of the coaches for keeping the teams performing well.

As a club we will endeavour to keep the website updated with current results and upcoming fixtures. We can only put on the information that we are given, so could I please ask everybody concerned to supply all relevant information that needs publishing to the club email each Monday.

Finally, but probably most importantly, could I please stress that the club needs to work together in order to progress. At times it seems that we are all guilty of thinking that our own particular part of the club is all that matters. Remember rugby is all about teamwork, that is the same both on and off the pitch. If we want the club to progress let’s all pull together and work towards a stronger and more vibrant club. All of us need to support the events that the club runs not just the ones we think affect our section of the club! It would be great for the whole club to support the race night to be held on November 30th - as this is being organised by the mini section let’s all show our support for the organisers and make this a great event for the club.
Here is to a successful run up to the festive period. Good luck to all those representing the club in whatever capacity.

Micky
