We now have our card machine up and running (at last!!)

“It's good pub weather!” Philip "Doctor Who" Vaughan

A new month sees Deepings progressing well on the field. The Green machines impressive recent form sees them in the Hunts and Peterborough cup final and still pushing for promotion in the league currently sitting 3rd in the table. The Dinosaurs had a great result last weekend defeating Stamford 42 – 10. The Devils are slowly rebuilding their ranks and putting together impressive performances in their fixtures. With all sides we do need to recruit further players to strengthen our playing resources let’s all work together to try to bring in further players for all sides.

On the junior and minis front things are moving forward very well, the U14’s although weakened by injury and illness put in a fine performance against a strong Milton Keynes side on Sunday and held the opposition to a very close game until they conceded late scores to put an unrealistic look to the final score. Minis performances and numbers keep improving all of the time, this is great to see and looks very promising for the future of the club. Well done to all concerned.

Off the field the club is performing well it has been great to see the support for our recent socials -Race Night and Poker Night -congratulations to all involved. From the bar situation we now have our card machine up and running (at last!!) so please can we make sure that all outstanding tabs are paid asap. There is a new procedure in place for tabs and unfortunately if this isn’t strictly adhered to, then we will have to withdraw this benefit to our members.

Also on Saturday 18th March we (DRUFC) are holding a get together at the club for all past and present players. The bar will be open from midday and the 6 Nations will be on the big screens. It would be great to see lots of people there, players old and new. Please let everyone know, to make sure everyone is informed. Over the years peoples details have changed. We are keen to update our data base and keep everyone involved in future events. So once again, we hope to see everyone there. Lets make it a fantastic day!

Have a good weekend come down to the club and watch the Six Nations matches on the big screens and good luck to all players for the coming month.

Regards

Micky
